About me

Kathryn Wright

BSc, PGCE, MEd, SpLD, AMBDA, APC

I am a fully qualified dyslexia assessor and one of the leading professionals in my field. Based in Maidstone, Kent, I bring over 15 years of experience as a primary school teacher in mainstream education, with a particular focus on supporting children with additional needs such as dyslexia.

This extensive classroom background gives me a grounded, up-to-date understanding of the school environment and enables me to make tailored, practical recommendations for learners with dyslexic difficulties.

Alongside my work in assessment, I am the Course Lead and Tutor for the Postgraduate Certificate in Specialist Teaching and Dyslexia Assessment at Canterbury Christ Church University. In this role, I train teachers and aspiring dyslexia assessors to the highest professional standards, combining academic rigour with real-world insight.

I am passionate about helping individuals access the support they need to thrive in their learning journey and equally committed to sharing my knowledge and expertise with teachers, students, and local schools. My goal is to support learners and help equip the professionals around them with practical tools and insight that make a meaningful impact.
