Dyslexia screening
Private Dyslexia Screening
Price £175 (Age 6 to 14)
A comprehensive evaluation of literacy skills designed to screen for dyslexia and inform targeted support strategies that enhance learning.
This dyslexia screener is administered face-to-face over approximately 60 minutes and evaluates literacy skills using a range of standardised assessments.
Dyslexia Screening Process
Step 1: Before the screening
Before the screening takes place, a background questionnaire will be completed to gather information on developmental and educational history, with a focus on any literacy-related difficulties.
Step 2: In-person dyslexia screening (60 mins)
The dyslexia screener assesses:
Language: Ability to know the meaning of words heard or seen.
Phonological Awareness: Ability to recognise and manipulate the sound structures of spoken language.
Spelling: Ability to recognise letters and correctly spell words.
Reading: Ability to read at a basic rate and comprehend questions.
Auditory verbal memory: Capacity to recall spoken phonological information, such as letter sequences.
Processing Speed: The rate at which a person can take in, understand, and respond to information.
Step 3: After the screening
A screening report will be received.
The short report draws on background information and task performance to provide a clear overview of the individual’s literacy strengths and areas for development.
Each domain is summarised, with practical recommendations for support at home and school.
Please note: this is a screening tool, not a diagnostic assessment. It does not confirm dyslexia but highlights potential difficulties and suggests appropriate next steps. Where challenges are identified, a full specialist assessment may be recommended.
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
